Drew Brees is not the only American to have had family serve in the armed forces and risk life for nation

Drew Brees, and others with his mentality, seem to have this idea in their heads that they're the only ones who ever had family serves in prior and or current wars, that some how it's and exclusively 'W' thing to be valent and brave on the battle field.
Well truth is many Americans of all colors have had to and volunteered to serve in the military, many of these Americans being people of color, who sadly were not allowed to appear in any War films Hollywood put out during the 50's and 60's and 70's...according to Hollywood, and it's mindset at the time which reflected societies mindset, only 'White males' served in all wars prior to Vietnam....and if an occasional black person or minority was shown in these films, it was as a cook, or someone mopping the floor, but they were never allowed to be depicted as holding a rifle and being brave.

Truth is African Americans, who have deeper roots in American than most 'European immigrants' do, have fought in every major war this nation has fought, for the better or worse.

And then treated worse than the enemy when returned back stateside.

And I'm sure many NFL players also have, or had, many relatives in the past who also served in WW1, WW2, Korean wars, Vietnam, Iraq war and more, so this idea that only 'white' folks have been the only one's on battle fields fighting for the rights of Americans is pure Hollywood, and kind of an elitist wishful thought to those conditioned to think of themselves as being more elevated than others.

Not saying that's what you implied Brees, but other Conservative Commentators sure do and did after your comments.

My own Father served in the Korean War, shipped over seas like hundreds of 1000's of others, but looking at photos of that war, you'd never know any one served in the Korean War unless they were 'White'.
(Myself former Navy)

I mean wow, I guess even what photos American public allowed to see back then was even segregated.

Bullets and grenades from the enemy don't know color, so all men who served were brave and courageous, and same with the women who served as well.

But there's obviously also a silent war going on on the streets of America, and if young, black and male, the casualty rate can exceed that of many battle fields.

I respect the flag also, but would never imply those who chose to kneel, do not.

To be continued.
